Add half a pot of hot water (must be hot), not over the beef. Add a few cloves of hawthorn slices (hawthorn can play a role in promoting the softness of the meat). You can add more water because it takes longer to stew the beef.

Simmer for 5 minutes on high heat, then turn the heat to medium and simmer for another 25 minutes. Add three tablespoons of salt (about 10 grams), add the potatoes and stew for 15 minutes, the potatoes will be basically soft. Add a little sesame oil, remove from the pot and sprinkle with chopped green onion.
