Open Church: where all are welcomed

in chistian-trail •  7 years ago

Greetings fellow Steemians.

Welcome to Week 9 of Open Church

Open Church is an initiative by @majes, @nextgen622 and the Christian trail community on Steemit. It aims to be a place where Christians on Steemit can hang out, encourage and build up one another, and reflect the love of Christ. The church is not a building, but is made up of people who have been transformed by God's grace.

Steemit is not all about money, but it's also a community of real people with real needs. So let us be a community of brothers and sisters that can Truly support one another with our real lives. Hope we can put aside the money element of Steemit and enter into authentic fellowship with one another.

Each week we will be putting up a new post with a new topic or theme for discussion. But feel free to come here just to fellowship and be a blessing to one another. Whatever denominational background your from, or if you're just curious about the Christian faith, everyone is welcome.

So feel free to share a link to your favourite worship song, share a word of encouragement, a prayer request, or introduce yourself. But please do not promote any posts here, or get into any arguments here.

Today's theme is... Share a time of great Thanksgiving in your life.

You can also join us for some more fellowship in the channel on Christian-Chat

Be Blessed.

Beautiful, bro..

that tells the story of what I'm thankful for!

Beautiful photo @breakthrough, your love is also an inspiration to me!

I believe it was following the loss of my Sweetheart, Marcia Mandle, when i had such tears of gratitude and thanksgiving for the time she spent with me. During her living years I was thankful then, however death forces you to look at things in a different light. Over the next several months as I looked around and saw her gentle humble giving touch spread thought my home and my life, I was so overtaken with tears of thanksgiving for all she was to me. From the God we shared together to Estate Saling to traveling, working together, sharing our innermost thoughts. I realized how much of herself she gave to me and my tears of loss turned into tears of thanksgiving. Here was an entry I wrote about 4 months following her death that bests reflects my thanksgiving and gratitude.

Marcia - Thank you for the 4 years and 12 days we shared as a couple. I miss you every day honey and am soooo grateful for the love you gave me and all the many and beautiful things we did during that brief time. It was indeed a God thing that will never be taken away from us. You are forever in my heart.

In sadness and loss we can find great thanksgiving. Thank you Lord.

thanks for sharing - appreciate your courage

My dear friend Troy, your and Marcia's love is also so inspiring and that you can be grateful to God although you lost her, speak of great spiritual and emotional maturity and in sharing it everytime I know comes healing for you.

The birth of our daughter was one time (among many) of great thanksgiving! She is such a blessing from the Lord! God has been so good to us!

Beautiful testimony @mineisjesus. She is soo cute, nothing more precious!

The thing that I am the most grateful for all of my life is for God saving me at the tender age of 12 years and that since then I could walk a path with the Lord, growing spiritually since then. I think that spared me a lot of negative things in life. Also seeing here on steemit how knowledgable persons struggle to understand and believe the gospel, then I am again truly filled with gratefulness.
