Gratitude Day 49/62 ~ "Heirs of a Great Heritage"

in christian-trail •  7 years ago  (edited)

Hi dear friends...

Today on my 49th day of #gratitudeday, driven by @tojukaka, I want to share with all of you one more reason for which I am grateful, and it is the fact that I belong to the Heavenly Father, the creator of heaven and earth and author of my salvation, as his heir. There is no greater privilege than this. He has loved me, redeemed me, adopted me and made me an heir by his grace; and he has done so completely in His own free and sovereign will. But there is an additional in this blessing, I also have God as my own inheritance. The Psalmist said, He is "my portion forever", so I also declare The LORD God is my inheritance.

I am grateful for the privilege that I have as part of the family of the Kingdom of God. The members of this family are "heirs with Christ" (Romans 8:17). All that is his inheritance is ours too, and it is not something we deserve; This is strictly a gift from God for His chosen children.

The inheritance of Christ is the glory of God, which means the vision of participation and the joy of God himself. In addition, we have the earnest of the Holy Spirit (Eph 1:14), as a promise of what will really come next. He is the promise of something greater. Since the Holy Spirit is the portion of God, the entire inheritance must be God himself (Psalm 73: 25,26, Lam 3:24).

So how can I not be grateful for significant privilege? I am blessed in Him and his inheritance is a source of joy and peace.
