Then the king answered and said, "give her the living child and in no wise slay it; she is the mother thereof. 1 Kings 3:27
In 1st Kings Chapter 3, the story is told of two harlots who lived in the same house and had both recently given birth. As recounted, the first prostitute slept on her child and killed it and so sought and stole the baby of the second harlot while she slept. When the latter realized her baby had been switched she presented the case before the king where she eventually won and was given her child back.
This story in many ways mirrors our stay on earth as Christians. Here, the first prostitute represents the devil who lost his glory and honour and now seeks to take ours. Ever so often he succeeds whenever we fall asleep as Christians. However when we awake and realize that the enemy has substituted the glorious life God has planned for us for something less we must do like the second harlot did. Instead of crying and complaining we must present our case before the king of kings in prayer. Not only is he all knowing but he's also on our side. In the end, he shall restore unto us that which the devil has stolen from us.
LIFE APPLICATION
When you see that your health, finances, academics, etc. is not consistent with the word of God go before the king of kings and present your case and his word before him.
PRAYER
Whatever the enemy has stolen from me I reclaim in Jesus name.
