I pray that the Holy Spirit will reveal all that we are going to do in this studies.

1 Cor 2: 10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.

If you want to know God to His full extent then I am inviting you to do this studies with me. We are studying other biblical descriptions of God whereby God reveals His character to us. Some would see this also as more of God's attributes.

GOD IS FORGIVING

MEANING
Forgiveness is God not holding us responsible for the penalty for our sins because Christ has paid the penalty for us.

KEY VERSES

Daniel 9:9 To the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness, though we have rebelled against Him.

Jeremiah 31:34 4 No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”

Ephesians 1:7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace .

Ephesians 4:32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

Luke 24:46-47 Then He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise[h] from the dead the third day, 47 and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Colossians 1:13-14 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood,[c] the forgiveness of sins.

EXPLANATION

  • Confession and repentance are necessary for the forgiveness of sins.

1 John 1:9 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

  • The shed blood of Jesus Christ allows God to forgive sins and still be just.

But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

  • Faith in the finished work of Jesus on the cross makes forgiveness available to all sinners.

Colossians 2:13-14 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, 14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.

when we sin, we are telling God, our Creator, that we don’t want to obey Him anymore. Well, because He is our Creator, because He is holy and good, He must punish us when we sin. The punishment for sin is serious unless we could offer a perfect sacrifice to God to pay for our sin. But we are NOT perfect. So, what do we do? Well, God had a plan. And it is a plan that provides a PERFECT sacrifice for you and me! That sacrifice was the Son of God; Jesus Christ. He is the only person in the whole world who ever lived and did not sin! But He is the one who had to die for our sins. Our sin against God is so bad that it could only be paid for by Jesus Christ suffering and dying in our place. Jesus paid the price for our sin in full. Therefore, He suffered so that He could defeat suffering for all eternity for all who will believe. Jesus Christ suffered for us and paid sin’s penalty.

No ....God cant justly forgive our sins without the penalty been paid but that was why Jesus came to do. Jesus has paid the penalty for us and so we are not supposed to pay it anymore..
So if by any chance we sin , all we need to do is to ask for forgiveness and God would forgive us because Jesus has paid it all
Thanks..

Hello ma'am @hope777. Thanks for mentioning me in your post.

Could God justly forgive our sins without the penalty being paid?

Our God is a forgiving God but when he forgives, He makes sure that we get punished for that sin so that we will not go back to that sin if truly we are a listening child.

For the Lord disciplines the one He loves, and He chastises everyone He receives as a son.

The guilt of our sins has been taking away when we are forgiving but the consequences are still there but during the on going consequences, God is there for us to sustain us.

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. - Romans 8:26a

I commend you for getting others involved in Bible study with you. :-)

Thank you pastor @mackmck, I give all the glory, honor and praise to our awesome God!

As long as we are willing to confess and sake our old ways, God is just and faithful to forgive us of our unrighteousness and sin.

I believe its all over.. Thats is the main reason behind Jesus' death. He has paid once and for all. No one can atone for his or her sins, no one can pay.The blood of Jesus is the inly acceptable price for remuneration of sin...1st John 2 vs 1 says
"My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world".

When we confess our sins and we received forgiveness by faith and the bible in the book of 2nd Corinthians 5:17 says that when a man is in christ he becomes a new creator, old thing (the sins) have passed away i.e the lord will over look it for Christ sake. And everything becomes new. A new man, A new life, a new beginning......No more purnishment

Wow!! This is one of the best posts i've read today..this is interesting..i'm following u right away for more of this..

Thank you ma. Quoting from the study forgiveness is God not holding us for the penalty of our sins because Christ has paid it for us. Now based on the question definitely yes because forgiveness is the act of not charging you. But this is for those who are in Christ Jesus. Who has the legal right to ask for forgiveness and the one who is not in Christ Jesus need remission of sin.

2nd corinthians 5:17 says thus Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Yea God could forgive all our sins without being paid..all we need is ..accept Jesus christ as our lord and saviour, confession of sins and starts a new life.
