Reckless Love by Cory Asbury (Bethel Music)

psalm 86 15 b.png

Overwhelming, never ending, reckless love:

The love of God is beyond comprehension, beyond justification, and greater than any other.

In Jesus we get exactly what we never deserved perfect grace, unrelenting mercy, incomparable favour, and most astonishly son-ship. The love of God so recklessly sought our salvation that he sacrificed everything...

John 3:16 New International Version (NIV)

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

I have no words.

I can only reference the beautiful things of this life to point a dim light at the joy of knowing His love. This song that I am about to share is one such indicator, beautiful beyond my ability and yet woefully inadequate to describe the fullness of His great love and beauty.

"There’s no shadow You won’t light up
Mountain You won’t climb up
Coming after me
There’s no wall You won’t kick down
Lie You won’t tear down
Coming after me"

Why this song means so much to me:

This song tears down my pride and shakes my soul to its core, reminding me with each word the deep abiding faithfulness of God, and simultaneously sheds light on the inadequacy of my gratitude.

There are no words for the Love of God. There is no sufficient thankfulness one can have, because the recklessness of his sacrificial pursuit of me is beyond explanation, comprehension and yet... true, genuine, intentional and most meaningfully, without regret.

Ninety-nine Plus One

12 “What do you think? If any man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go and search for the one that is straying? 13 If it turns out that he finds it, truly I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine which have not gone astray. 14 So it is not the will [a]of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones perish.
