Sunday thoughts on Saturday: Gains/Growth Greater than I know.

We ended our sex series and started a new one this week. I wrote these notes in first person, but it wasn't I preaching. Let me know if you have any questions. I took notes as best I could. At times I stopped, skipped, or added my own thoughts. Be blessed!

Romans 12:2—Renewing your mind.

When preparing this sermon, I thought to myself, who am I preaching to? I started to understand, I started to realize, and I became aware that this is for the people that need to know Him. That need to know Him, not just know about Him.

When you start to know God you start to understand the grace of Gave of God—to know the love of God.

  1. Do not be conformed to this world.
Conformed to, submitted to, enslaved to this world, instead of being renewed by God.

How can the world show you to live an abundant life? Watching TV and a materialistic view, but how can the world teach you to live when they didn’t create it? The blind following the blind. Be careful who you follow. People are generally looking for a leader, looking for direction, while pretending they don’t want anyone telling them what to do.

A prophet isn’t without honor, except at his own home.

Why as Christians are we satisfied with the bare minimum?

  1. Not only do not conform, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
The word transformed is similar to metamorphosis like the process of becoming a butterfly. When you come to know Jesus you experience a metamorphosis. It’s a change in your appearance, it’s a change in your surroundings, it’s a change in you.

When you know who He is there is a change. The change in your behavior because now you know forgiveness. Your mind changes and your circumstances begins to change too. You complained before, but then learned the power of speaking life into your everyday.

Conscious mind and your subconscious mind. Conscious mind makes daily decisions. Subconscious mind makes decisions that have been repeatedly made consciously.

So, is the Bible talking about my conscious mind or the subconscious mind? If you’re going to trust God with all, trust that He is going to provide for you, and that you are not going to worry. Praise God.

  1. You do all these things so that you may prove (to yourself) what is good and acceptable to the perfect will of God.

Changing the focus from our will to God's will for our lives. When you know God's will is good, you can’t live any other way. The will of God is ahead of you so you have to move forward. It doesn’t matter what you have been through, what you did; mistakes have been made. God is waiting for you, know God and move forward with Him. Experience His goodness.

John 6:16—when you’re in the will of God and you’re pressing, you don’t have to see it, but you know it’s happening.

As Peter said, you only have the power. He knew Jesus, he was close to Jesus. Sometimes we feel we don’t know enough. I don’t understand. What God has done in your life is enough. The cross is enough.

Mark 3:35—obedience to God opens the door for fellowship with Him. That is acceptance. God hears you. God loves you. If you would take the time to talk with Him, He would talk back.

God blessed you. Don’t forget we love because He loved us first.

Amen.

Sweet baby...

I prefer to call her "Kubby" instead.

My beloved friend!

The greatest thing is knowing who Jesus is and to follow His footsteps. This will ensure we are able to overcome in this world.
