There was a heated debate recently , in a School environment among Christians . The debate was subjected on the Heading above; but with these subheadings!
How and Why did Judas Killed Jesus Christ??
Why Couldn't Herod Free Jesus, since he declared Him Innocent??
Why and How was the custom of freeing whoever the Jews desired to be freed began?? Who inaugurated it ?? Why was it being practiced??
Must Herod Obey such a Law, when it was obvious , Jesus was Innocent??
What Stops Jesus from appealing to Caesar in Rome??
Why didn't Jesus defend Himself throughout the obnoxious trial??

None of the above. Jesus freely offered His life as price for the salvation of the world from eternal condemnation.
He sacrificed His own life so that you and I can live forever.
As for Bible reference, ol'boy you go find that one out by ya self.
