WWJD~What Would Jesus Do? Would Jesus Celebrate Halloween? Should Christians? non-judgemental examination.

As millions of Christians get ready to celebrate Halloween tonight, the question which the followers of Christ should be asking themselves, is the same question Christians should always ask themselves in every situation, "What Would Jesus Do? As followers of Christ, isn't that what we proport to do? Doesn't being a Christian, or claiming to be one, mean that we follow the life and teachings of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ? If that is indeed what it means to be a Christian, 'To be a Disciple or Follower of Jesus Christ' then we have only one question to ask ourselves concerning Halloween, WWJD?
Would Jesus celebrate Halloween?
In the form of disclosure, I have to let my readers know, some of my very own adult children and their children, my grandchildren, will be celebrating Halloween this evening. I would also like to disclose, my husband and I celebrated halloween up until the time my youngest son was a toddler. It was around this time that my husband and I got really serious about our walk with Christ, and we re-dedicated ourselves to Jesus Christ. In many ways we were baby Christians, we had both been raised by our parents in the Baptist Church. But neither my husband nor myself had really served Christ as adults, or led what I consider, according to the reading of the Bible, to be a Christian life. Having been raised in Church, like most Christians of the time, and even today, our parents thought of Halloween as an "innocent, fun, holiday for children". My husband and I grew up celebrating and participating in the Halloween Holiday. We carried this tradition over into our adult lives and our parenting, in that we had lots of fun dressing up our children and taking them 'trick or treating'. Yes, I said fun! Because another proponent of being a Christian is to tell the truth. And if I am truthful, we enjoyed all of the typical aspects of the Halloween celebration. We have adorable pictures of our children dressed up in halloween costumes, and great memories 'trick or treating' with our friends and neighbors. But, does that make celebrating halloween ok? Is Halloween just innocent fun that legalistic minded Christians say is evil?
I could opine on all of my own personal opinions on this subject, but my opinion is no more valuable than that of any other Christian. The authority on what Christians should and should not do, is the Bible. But in order to apply the Bible to this holiday, we need to know exactly what this holiday is.
What does Halloween celebrate? What is the history of Halloween? What does the Bible say about Halloween? Does Halloween conflict with Christian beliefs? Is there a spiritual aspect to Halloween? Is Halloween innocent fun, or spiritual evil? These are the questions we will try to answer in our quest to search out the truth, of what Christians should do, concerning Halloween.

We will first examine the history of Halloween. The World Book of Encyclopedia traces the origins of Halloween back over 2000 yrs ago to the ancient pagan festival of Samhain (pronounced Sow-in). On the night of October 31, they celebrated Samhain, when it was believed that the ghost of the dead returned to walk among us on earth. The Celts believed that the dead could walk among the living at this time. During Samhain, the living could visit with the dead.”

We now know the origin of Halloween is a pagan festival
The beliefs of this holiday are spiritual in nature
This holiday involved practices of "calling up the dead"as spirits, ghosts, or demons
What does the Bible have to say about these facts?

Ecclesiastes 9:5 (KJV)

5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.

12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord: and because of these abominations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

1 Corinthians 10:20-21(KJV)

20 But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.

21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table
of devils.

Now we need to take a look at the customs and practices of Halloween. Things like Costumes, Trick or Treating, and giving of Candy.

According to the book, Halloween-An American Holiday, An American History: some of the Celts wore ghoulish costumes so that wandering spirits would mistake them for one of their own and leave them alone. Others offered sweets to the spirits to appease them. In medieval Europe, the Catholic clergy adopted local pagan customs and had their adherents go from house to house wearing costumes and requesting small gifts.

The Bible on the other hand, does not permit merging false religious practices with the worship of God, according to 2Corinthians 6:17, and other scriptures

The demon of lies, he was acknowledged in the Bible as a source of great evil, and even as the lord of all demons. Some apocrypha declare that Belial was created next to Lucifer, and that he was a king of Hell governing 80 Infernal Legions

Ephesians 5:6-12 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not become partners with them; for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord.

2 Corinthians 6:17 Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?

Isaiah 8:19 And when they say to you, “Inquire of the mediums and the necromancers who chirp and mutter,” should not a people inquire of their God? Should they inquire of the dead on behalf of the living?

Isaiah 5:20 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter

Leviticus 18:24-30 “Do not make yourselves unclean by any of these things, for by all these the nations I am driving out before you have become unclean, and the land became unclean, so that I punished its iniquity, and the land vomited out its inhabitants. But you shall keep my statutes and my rules and do none of these abominations, either the native or the stranger who sojourns among you (for the people of the land, who were before you, did all of these abominations, so that the land became unclean), lest the land vomit you out when you make it unclean, as it vomited out the nation that was before you.

Exodus 23:24 You shall not bow down to their gods nor serve them, nor do as they do, but you shall utterly overthrow them and break their pillars in pieces.

Colossians 2:8 See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.

Galatians 4:8-11 Formerly, when you did not know God, you were enslaved to those that by nature are not gods. But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how can you turn back again to the weak and worthless elementary principles of the world, whose slaves you want to be once more? You observe days and months and seasons and years! I am afraid I may have labored over you in vain

There are literally hundreds of scriptures that I believe apply to Christians observing holidays and customs of pagans, heathens, or unbelievers, these are just a few of those.

I would now like to take a look at the images or symbols associated with Halloween

Ghosts, Witches, Demons, Vampires, Zombies- These have long been associated with the evil spirit world. (Halloween Trivia) And I would go further to say that they are also associated with the supernatural, spiritual, and Hell.

Black Cats- Often used as symbols of bad luck, black cats grace many halloween decorations. The black cat's bad reputation dates back to the Dark Ages, when witch hunts were commonplace. Elderly, solitary women were often accused of being Witches, and their Cats were said to be their "familiars", or demonic animals given to them by the devil. Another medieval myth, told that Satan turned himself into a cat when socializing with Witches.

Jack o'lanterns and pumpkins- According to: (Halloween-From Pagan Ritual to Party Night) In Medieval England, "supplicants moved from door to door asking for food in return for prayers for the dead", and they would carry hollowed out turnip lanterns with a candle inside them, that represented a "soul trapped in purgatory" During the 1800's in North America, pumpkins replaced turnips because they were plentiful and easy to hollow out and carve.

The beliefs behind the customs of jack o'lanterns, and pumpkins-The immorality of the soul, purgatory, and prayers for the dead, are definitely considered in opposition of Biblical Christian beliefs by most believers, with exception of many Catholic sects.

Bats- Medieval folklore also described bats as Witches familiars, and seeing a bat on halloween was considered an ominous sign. One myth was that if a bat was seen flying around a house three times, it meant someone in that house would soon die. Another myth was that if a bat flew into your home on halloween, it meant your house was haunted, because a ghost had let him in.
Spiders- A common source of fear, spiders make for creepy, crawly, halloween staples. They join the ranks of bats, and black cats, as companions to witches in medieval times. One superstition held that if a spider fell into a candle lit lamp and was consumed by the flame, witches were nearby.
What does the Bible have to say about these symbols and what they represent? I believe that we have given scriptures already that show God's attitude about Ghosts, Spirits, Demons, and communing with the dead. But many of these symbols such as bats and spiders, represent another issue, which is fear. I think one of the most used phrases by Jesus Christ in his time on earth was, "Fear Not". When Jesus repeats something more than once, it is because it is extremely important and He wants us to pay attention to what He is saying and "Get it".

Having been someone who once suffered from a paralyzing and totally demonic fear for 7 years because of a horrible thing that happened to my family, I can tell you that fear is from the pit of hell! I went to doctors, took anti-anxiety medicines, sought treatment of every kind, and found no lasting answers in the medical or world system. It was not until I had turned my life over to the Lord Jesus Christ, and read a book called "The Bondage Breaker" by Neil T. Anderson, that I found complete 100% freedom from the Spirit of Fear that had nearly wrecked my marriage and destroyed my family, all on account of something evil that had happened that I had no control over. It was perpetrated by evil people, yet it left its evil markings and evils companion "Fear", to try and finish the destruction of myself and my family all because we had been called and gifted by God with the faith to carry out the plans and purposes of God for our lives.
THIS IS WHAT FEAR IS REALLY LIKE!

Make no mistake, I can tell you from first hand experience that "Fear is torment" just as the Bible says, and that we are to "give no place to the devil" in ever allowing even a tiny speck of fear to remain in our minds, thoughts, heart, or spirits. You may think "I cannot help how I feel" but I beg to differ, by controlling what we think, meditate on, what words come out of our mouths, by binding & rebuking "the spirit of fear", and by 'casting our cares on the Lord Jesus Christ', we can indeed begin to change and control our Emotions and feelings.
Also, we can display Courage, by not giving into fears, when we have a fear or phobia (same thing), and we refuse to give in and allow that fear to control our actions, we take away the power of that spirit and it has to go! If you are afraid of small or closed in spaces for instance, for starters stop saying you are afraid of them, the Bible says "The power of life and death are in the tongue, and we eat the fruits thereof" meaning we harvest the fruits of whatever we speak, the seed you sow is the harvest you will get. You do not sow corn seed and get pumpkins.
So if you are afraid of anything, stop saying it, rebuke that fear and bind it, then go ahead and show the devil that he cannot control you by his evil spirits, display Godly courage and do the very thing that you are afraid of.
When we resist temptations, the devil has to flee. And believe me when I tell you that FEAR is one of the most evil and insidious spirits there is.
Finally, on this subject of "FEAR" I would like to say, if you suffer from any kind of spirit of fear, of any kind, you owe it to yourself to get Neil T.Anderson's book "The Bondage Breaker".
Even if you do not have a problem with any kind of fear or anxiety, I would recommend "The Bondage Breaker" to every Christian in the world, as it is the best book I have ever read that teaches 'Our position and authority in Christ'.

2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

1 John 4:18There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

​I believe we have covered enough of the symbols of Halloween for everyone to get the picture that all of these symbols represent the very nature of pagan, demonic, Satanic, worship or beliefs. All of the symbols of Halloween have to do with the very evil that Christians are meant to repel in the world. One of these main evils is FEAR! Other things the symbols and practices of Halloween represent is Necromancy, Occult practices such as witchcraft, familiar spirits, soothsayers, and communicating with demons and ghosts.
In all honesty, the question of whether or not Christians should participate in such an occultic holiday is to me mute. As soon as I came back to Christ as an adult, and began to study the word of God, I quickly and without any reservation determined that this was not a holiday a Christian should participate in. I was a baby Christian at the time, and it seemed obvious to me, even though I had been raised by Christian parents who did not see a problem with celebrating Halloween.
There is a scripture that answers to one of the reasons I believe many Christians see no problem with Halloween. If you ask the average Christian what can make the Word of God null and void? Most would say, "nothing", or "sin", or "the devil", or something to those effects, yet none of those answers are correct.
Mark 7:13 ​Making the word of God of no effect through your tradition which you have handed down, and many such things you do.

​The above verse clearly states that the "Traditions" of men make the word of God of "No Effect"! That is powerful! To think that we can nullify God's word because we allow our traditions to "override" what God tells us is clearly wrong. And that is exactly what I think most Christians have done when it comes to celebrating pagan holidays such as Halloween. We actually ignore God's Holidays in the Bible that He says "Are to be celebrated forever", instead we choose to celebrate the holidays the rest of the world celebrates, even if they are clearly representations and practices of a demonic and evil nature!

There are a couple of final points I would like to make about Christians celebrating Halloween:

I believe one of the main reasons that Christians celebrate Halloween and believe it to be "innocent fun" is because the average Christian has no idea about the Supernatural and Spiritual realm that the Bible speaks so often about. Most Christians wrongly believe just like the world, and non-believers believe, that Ghosts, witches, demonic creatures, etc., are not real, therefore they have nothing to fear or to avoid. I cannot get into all of this in this article, but even if you have no knowledge of the many, many, many, supernatural things that take place across our world on a daily basis, I beg you to go to the Bible and see what it has to say from the very beginning to the very end about evil creatures, demons, spirits, and the supernatural powers of t Satan, his fallen angels, giants, demons, witches, and even Leviathans in the sea. I realize the majority of protestant believers be they Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, Lutheran, etc., were not taught about the Supernatural and Spiritual realms that both the good Godly Angels and creatures inhabit, and the evil, Satanic fallen Angels, demons, and evil creatures inhabit. But all of these things are not only in the Bible, but even more in depth study on this topic can be found in several other books that were also found in the cave with "The dead Sea Scrolls" and some of these books are even mentioned as being read or quoted by some of the disciples or Jesus himself, in the Bible. I therefore do not take these books as cannon, but, I do take them as being trustworthy and truthful or I do not believe Jesus or the disciples would have quoted from them or read them. Many people even believe that several of these other manuscripts and books that were found in the 'Caves of Qumran' with the 'dead sea scrolls' were originally part of the Bible, but were taken out by the Catholics at the "Council of Nicaea" in 325 AD, when Emperor Constantine ordered that the Bible be translated and made available to the public not just to priests. Either way, they were and are considered by many to be reliable and accurate depictions of the Biblical days before God destroyed the world by flood in the days of Noah. That makes the books especially pertinent to today's Christians, as many of us believe we are in the "End Times" and God said in Revelations that the last days would be "as the days of Noah". The above referenced books are the books of Enoch, Jasher, and the Book of Jubilees. The above mentioned books are generally referred to as "Extra Biblical Texts". I recommend reading them to gain a better understanding not only of the Spiritual realm and Supernatural, but also of the Bible. These books really open up your understanding of the word of God, and as far as I can tell, they do not contradict the word of God at all. They may challenge your interpretation of some scriptures, but as I stated, at least two of these books are referenced in the Bible.

​The last thing I would like to touch on about believers celebrating Halloween, is what I consider the hardest part of this topic to discuss, but I also believe it is the most compelling argument that faces Christians when it comes to their beliefs and practices concerning Halloween.

​When I came to the conclusion that it was not appropriate for me and my family to celebrate halloween any longer, there was something that helped to fully convince me. A dear Christian neighbor and friend of mine, Ute, took me to a " video movie premier" at her church. The movie was basically a documentary of a man named Glenn Hobbs life when he was a young child. This man had grown up with a Grandfather who was some sort of 'Grand Wizard' in a Satanic, Luciferian, cult. The movie was all about him and a young girl who was also a part of these satanic rituals. The worse part of all of this, is that right now today, pedophilia, ritual sexual abuse-SRA, (yes, it is so prevalent that they even have an acronym for it,) child sex slavery rings and human trafficking are at an all time high, not only here in America, but all across the world.
Literally thousands of children go missing every year in America, with the largest numbers occurring on Halloween. I cannot go off on another subject, but suffice it to say, the reason that one of the first things President Trump did, after becoming President, was to sign an Executive Order into law concerning Human trafficking (he was warned not to title it pedophilia or child sex trafficking) the people who are involved in these pedophile rings are some of the wealthiest and most powerful men and women in America.
They are all Luciferians and all a part of the illuminati and/or the deep state, which is just the "working arm" of the illuminati, i.e., CIA, FBI, DOD, etc,. Not all of the CIA, FBI, or DOD, is a part of the deep state, we have good CIA and FBI agents as well. There are rogue elements in just about every department in the Government that work for the illuminati and are part of the deep state.
That is why everyone in Washington and Hollywood is so against President Trump. They are all afraid because they have nothing on him, (they usually blackmail all politicians for money crimes or sex crimes, in order to control them) and he has already busted thousands of pedophiles and pedo rings in less than a year. They are all afraid of being exposed as pedophiles and Satanic ritual abusers, they're afraid of life in prison, or worse yet the American people being so outraged that they literally lynch them in the streets! If you doubt my word concerning this, take a look at what a US Senator had to say about it last year.
In 2016 the Obama Administration across the entire US, only arrested 300+ pedophiles. Trump has already arrested over 6000 in just a few months, and saved hundreds of children and teenagers who were captives. President Trump accomplished all these arrests by immediately putting together a task force to combat this problem right after he signed the executive order, because it is at epidemic proportions in America! There is a massive Satanic child sex trafficking ring operating out of our nation's capital that involves many high ranking Government officials, Congressman, Senators, and it even goes all the way to the former White house! This is why democrats and republicans, and the main stream media have so opposed President Trump, because all of them are involved in these pedophile rings, or involved in covering them up.
This child sex trafficking ring extends all the way to Hollywood, and you are starting to see the beginnings of it being uncovered in the news right now, with the outing of the sexual scandals with Harvey Weinstein, actor Kevin Spacey, Robert DeNiro, and many others. Listen to the news, Spacey is being accused of sexual misconduct with a then 14yr old boy. This story goes to show the tendencies of these sick, Luciferian, elites, in Hollywood and Washington. You don't just one day get drunk and decide to come on to a child! Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey's charges will eventually lead to known convicted pedophile Jeffery Epstein, as both of these men have flown on his "Lolita Express" and gone to his "Orgy island" which is a deep state "honey pot" entrapment known for having under age children there for the guests pleasures, and everything is video taped and recorded by the deep state, and then they have complete control of these men.

The above statements are the main reason that I could never put on a costume, give out candy, take my grandchildren trick or' treating, or in any way participate in Halloween ever again. After seeing the movie of that man's horrible childhood and how Halloween was not just another "fun holiday" for him and thousands of other children across the planet that are abused every year in celebration of this holiday. How could I ever have fun while knowing what is happening all across the world to innocent children in celebration of Halloween on this night? Even if I ignored everything the Bible says, like many of us Christians seem to do; I could never ignore the sick feeling I get in the pit of my stomach every October knowing what is coming and going to happen to little children.
