Watch out for the Esau syndrome: trading away
God's lifelong gift in order to satisfy a short-term
appetite. You well know how Esau later regretted that impulsive act and wanted God's blessing — but by then it was too late, tears or no tears”
Hebrews 12:16-17 (MSG).Every one of us, especially the young ones,
need to be on the watch out for what the Bible calls
the Esau Syndrome. You must be on your guard
against it. Constantly examine your life, your choices and your associations, so that you do not become a
victim of this syndrome.A syndrome is a predictable characteristic
pattern of behavior, or action that tends to occur
under certain circumstances. Esau Syndrome is a
pattern of behavior that makes talented people fail. It is the reason why great potentials are wasted and
those meant to be the head end up as tails.Esau Syndrome makes people trade away their future in order to satisfy a short-term appetite. When the
future comes, they have nothing but regrets. The
choices they made earlier in life leaves them saying
“Had I known” for the rest of their lives. We need to
pray and guard ourselves against the Esau Syndrome.Prayer:
Lord, deliver me from spiritual recklessness in Jesus' Name.
