If you are going through a difficult time in your life this post is for you.
That day I learned two lessons; The first was that the decisions we make in life have consequences. Although I was an 11-year-old boy, the duty was to go straight to my house and not play ball. Disobeying my mother and not warning her advice led me to suffer a wound in my leg. The decisions that are made in disregard of the norms often bring unpleasant consequences.
The second lesson has to do with the wound, the dog when biting my leg almost touches a tendon, how could I get to the hospital, they gave me the basic services they injected me and the doctor told me that the wound could not be sewn, it must be close and heal alone. So the days that followed were not easy for a young man of that age. The time for me was slow waiting for the skin to grow, to close the wound, and to stop hurting, but finally the wound healed. Every time I look at my leg I remember how it was yesterday, but it does not hurt anymore, it's healed.
All of us have once had physical wounds, in childhood, youth and even in adulthood. Some of them have healed and others remain open. But beyond a physical wound that you can make yourself. There are the wounds of the heart, they are those that although they are not seemingly are there without healing and pain every time we touch them.
The Bible tells us: "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds" (Psalm 147: 3).
Charles Spurgeon commented: "The kings of the earth believe that they are great because of their exaltation; but Jehovah is great because of his condescension. Behold, the Most High has to do with the sick and the sad, with the unfortunate and the wounded! He goes through hospitals like the good doctor! His deep sympathy with those who mourn is a special mark of his kindness. The Lord is always healing and bandaging; this task is not new for Him. He has done it since ancient times; and it is not a thing of the past of which he is now tired, because he is still healing and bandaging, as he did at the beginning. Come, broken hearts, come to the Doctor who never tires of healing; show him your wounds so that he sells them!" (David's treasure, devotionals on psalms, Charles Spurgeon, 737).
Let us go who can heal and bandage the wounds of the soul, to that kind, merciful and gracious God! No matter what suffering and pain that wound causes, Jesus can heal it.
