This is a testimony of a young man who was addicted to drugs (heroin) but could leave and not fall again.
But how is it possible to get out of heroin addiction? If heroin is the strongest drug.
He is Victor, He was a Puerto Rican teenager. His family decided to move to Brooklyn, New York.
But they did not achieve the purpose of living better, they faced poverty and debts of the house rent.
Working in a car workshop he met new friends and entered his gang, because of the dearth of money at home, seeing his mother with an old stove and a refrigerator that does not work and a broken radio, started selling drugs, became enslaved by the drug.
He met a girl, but the girl had a boyfriend. The boyfriend was from another gang, and came to threaten Victor with a gun, Victor was with his brother, the little brother ran to warn Victor's friends that they were attacking him. Victor's friends arrived with guns and started firing, and a friend of Victor's gang died. They threw him out of the gang and his parents realized that they tried to help him and he was admitted to several recovery clinics, but when he left, he returned to the addiction. A moment of desperation, he returned to the gang and told them that he could get more drugs, so he and his friends went in to rob a pharmacy and went to drug everyone for his house.
It was late at night and he was injecting himself with heroin. since his younger brother slept in the same room, woke up and saw, Victor took him out of the room. The next day the mother found the sleeping child outside the room, and when she looked out of the room, she found Victor unconscious. He was faint, he was close to death, the mother to see him react began to mourn the pain of seeing his son in bad condition, his brother and father arrived and also began to cry and knocked on the door, was one of the friends of Victor, was crying and frightened, the others were dead with the drug.
His mother met a pastor and started going to church.
Her son Victor was still drugging and she took the last decision that was the only one that could save him from that hell.
The next day the father saw the mother's faith and also had faith. They took him to the pastor's house, on the way he resisted, but he saw something strange, there was the boy who had killed his friend, saw him so changed, stayed 90 days at home with the other young people.
The first days he suffered not to use the drug, the other young people helped him to calm him by praying.
A few days later he did not want to be there and wanted to leave, the other young man who had been his enemy told him: "Jesus loves you, and has a better and better purpose for you," and he left. Victor heard that and kept crying and began to ask God for forgiveness. At dawn he went to find the girl, and he met the drug dealer, he wanted to take her but they pointed a gun at him and Victor was calm and said: "I have the power and you do not" (He referred to that he had Jesus) The salesman did not shoot him and upon seeing the girl he rejected the drug and acted brave went with him.
They arrived at the pastor's house and when she saw her ex-boyfriend she was amazed and he saw her hug her and wept, thanking God for bringing her through Victor.
On leaving he met with his family, made him welcome party, and went to the beach. On the beach Victor apologizes to his family and tells them that he loves them and gives the news that he would go to Boston to work in a Christian house of rehabilitation that the pastor offered.
He attended the Bible College where he met a young woman named Carmen and they were married. Together they traveled to several countries sharing their testimony and the love of Jesus that rescued him. I help many young people to leave the drug for Jesus.
Happy together!
In 1971, Victor and Carmen founded the New Life For Youth ministry in Richmond, Virginia, USA, helping many young men and women to free themselves from drug addiction and gang life.
They made a movie of his life. Here I leave the link.
