Truth in Scripture - Bible Verses for Inspiration, Edification, and Glorification

in christianity •  8 years ago

Romans 15:6

"That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ."

Let us glorify the one God, with one mind and one mouth, as one body, in Christ; our Savior. The simplicity of the Scriptures is clear to those who see. Let us remove the corruptions that divide us, just as they divide the truth. There is but one God, the Father and one Lord, Jesus Christ.

Yes!

I've read some of your other work and would like to have a bit of a dialogue about Trinitarian doctrine. The following verse and many other points you've made have always gave me pause about Trinity doctrine..

Philippians 2:6 "Who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to cling to..."
But what keeps me on the fence are other verses that would indicate that Jesus asserted, at least to some degree, divinity. Readily at mind is the story of the mob that wanted to stone him for blasphemy. How are these seemingly opposing verses reconciled?

Thank you for the comment and I am happy to have dialog about this. Would you mind if I answer your question in a blog post of it's own? I want to make sure I can explain it properly without making an overly long comment. It may benefit others as well. If that is okay, I'll link it here when it's finished.

That would be great, thanks! I'm glad I've given you a helpful idea.

I wrote a post on this here:

It's a bit long but I hope it helps. I did my best to cover it thoroughly. If you have any questions, comments, or even criticisms be sure to leave a comment.
