Hello beautiful people, it's the 22nd and I just got back home from school. Thankfully, i am finally done. Yup, that's right, i bagged that B.Sc like a boss. I could not wait to see my darling father (and i still have not because apparently he is out of town but should be on his way). As the only daughter, i have tons to do right before the 25th(market duties, cooking and all that follows). My brothers are just unnaturally delighted to see me; of course, i know, it's just so that they will finally eat some decent meal. lol! Living like spartans just aint cutting it no longer. Done with the pre-preliminary duties but i just can't figure out what to prepare for Christmas. Maybe i will go all Italian and prepare Lesagna with roast turkey, some coleslaw on the side with red wine and rice pudding for desert or I could go with the Mexicans and prepare some traditional tacos with shredded turkey and vegetables served with some fresh orange juice, then brownies for desert. Now, i would not mind going traditional, yes! yes! "ofe-nsala"(chicken and cat fish pepper soup that is thickened) with some soft and fluffy pounded yam....I can taste those native spices now. There is also the choice of "ofe-akwu" aka banga soup made with cow head and smocked catfish served with wheat or amala. I could also make rice, which could be native rice with a lot of dry fish, peppered snails on the side with either plantain or salad and cold palm wine to flush it down or fried rice with spiced goat meat or the Nigerian favourite, jollof rice with stewed fish and moi-moi. So many enticing options...which to choose from? Well, hopefully i will figure it out but i will love for you guys help me out with my decision.
Please be sure to stay tuned to find out.
Merry Christmas my darlings!!!!!
May the season be the reason for joy in your lives.
