Last nights cigars by the fire. These two are budget cigars. The Torano $4, the Vegas A $3-$4.
Let's start with the Torano 1995. First of all, this cigar is no longer in production. I have had both of these smokes for a few years. Having said that, most cigars are still easy to find from online cigar groups.
I wasn't a huge fan of this cigar, but it was good enough to smoke all the way. I was very surprised how fast it burned. The taste started off as dry and bland. But as it went on it smoked well and the flavors were enough to keep me somewhat enjoying it. Could have been the conversation by the fire helping it along. Nothing memorable about it besides a great burn, draw, and construction. C-
The 5 Vegas A is made by AJ Fernandez. It is covered in a maduro wrapper from Coasta Rica. I knew it would provide much more flavor that the Torano lacked. This cigar was a remaining one of my multiple 10 pack purchases 4-5 years ago. I was able to get them at upper $2 range, and they were a perfect yard cigar.
It delivers a variety of robust, medium to full-bodied flavors, including subtle spices and coffee-like notes. Along with some cocoa and nut nuances. It is a great smoke for the money, and you can still find them in regular production. A solid B+
