Hi all

in cinema •  7 years ago

Let me shortly introduce you.
It was always a joy for me to watch films. I never really cared for television, but the magic of a good movie in a cinema is one of the greatest joys. At the moment I'm going to be more in the film house. Once a month for now. In times where movies can get streamed cheap or for free, the art form becomes more and more trivia.

It's like just to pass the time.

Imagine the time even before VHS. A film becomes so unique because we couldn't see it all the time. This specialness is gone, it's becoming purely entertainment. Not so much an art form. But sometimes we know it, even in an expensive movie. Provocative ideas, slow pace, development (basically what Blade Runner 2049 was about) and they flop. The attention span is not that great I guess.

Anyway, it's all not too late and wrong. Before cinema dies out, let's appreciate it again. It is part of our modern identity. But get back to great movies. Let us support the great ones, the risky ones, the interesting ones. I'm here to guide you through it.

Ok, I might be biased here. I do choose films I'm interested in. Films I know there has a particular success, but will they be good? Every taste is different. But if your favourite movie is Blade Runner then we are good friends already. If it's Maid in Manhattan, well we had an interesting conversation.

Movies are like food, and all depends on your taste. Nothing wrong to enjoy a messy burger, but it should be balanced. And sometimes the best food seems a bit boring at first, but you appreciate it with time... if you give it a chance.

So much for the introduction.
Next, I will review my first movie:
The darkest hour
