#Movie Recommendation - The Terminator
Greetings, Steemians! Today I bring you a new series about movie recommendations I'll give you and some trivia whether it is for a romantic saturday evening or a horror sunday night! The first episode of the series is a movie from 1984, considered a an all-time favourite and a well deserved title of a cult classic. Ladies and gentlemen: The Terminator

Plot (spoiler-free)
An army of machines turned against mankind after Skynet, a battle management software used to manage the entire US Armed Forces declared humans as enemies and fired nuclear weaponry against Russia what prompted an immediate response, causing mutual annihilation.
Cyborgs took over what remained of the land and proceeded to eliminate the survivors. Mankind waged war for years under the movement named The Resistance. The battle lasted for years and the humans eventually won the war. But the machines were smart and evolved to the point of developing time travel.
In 2029, after destroying Skynet's Headquarters, a model T-800 (Arnold Schwarzenegger), nicknamed "Terminator", is sent back to 1984 to eliminate the mother of the leader of The Resistance, Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton), whose son, John Connor, would lead mankind to victory. Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn), a very dedicated officer is sent back in an one way trip to protect the woman.

Why should you watch the movie?
Directed by James Cameron (Titanic, The Abyss, Avatar) and written by himself and Gale Anne Hurd (producer at Aliens, Hulk, Æon Flux, Welcome to the Jungle), the movie features some of the finest action of any movie around. Relentless and heartpounding, the rather short movie helped redefine the thriller genre. The iconic one liners so common in the 80's are also very present. Who didn't hear about and replicated that very famous "I'll be back.."?
Initially intended to be an horror movie, it turns into a clever non-stop action movie. The movie's plot is well built. A simple story but has its twists - damsel in distress, hero goes in to save her from the bad guy - and the writers don't give a damn about killing off characters you bind with throughout the movie.
Well shot sequences merged flawlessly with Brad FIedel's intense synthesizer heavy score provide an immersion you just can't find around in most action movies nowadays. Today's movies are somewhat bland and lacking in soul, what this movie totally isn't. It has a presence, it repeatedly kicks you in the guts and brags about that everytime it happens. This is a flick you should watch right away. I was lucky to watch it in a classic movie exhibition in a local cinema and witnessing it in the big screen was quite an experience!
This is it for now. Go watch the movie! It's 107 minutes of explosive well made action allied with great acting and a compelling story. Go for it! No regrets, I promise you! See ya next time, Steemians and please don't forget to upvote and follow me for more great content!
