I don't know if John Wick was meant to be a series, but it was apparently successful enough to warrant one. And like most sequels of this kind of movie, it's even larger than life.
After accomplishing what he had hope was his last rampage, John Wick has to get back into action. The impossible feat he accomplished (which was referrenced in the first movie) comes biting him back: an Italian mafioso wants a payback for that thing. He wants to have his sister assassinated so he can be the head of his crime family.
Like the first chapter, John Wick chapter 2 is enjoyable is you suspend common sense and reason. If you do, then you can appreciate the action and the satisfying revenge Wick gets. We see more of his talents (speak Italian, sign language) and see his most famous feat: kill with a pen. He also seems more vulnerable; even after he "repays" the mafia, he still has problems with them and must try to find allies... who also want a for of repayment.
In short, John Wick chapter 2 is a good action movie and sequel. Unlike the first one, the table is set for the sequel. Can,t wait to see how he will get out of that mess!
Final rating: 4/5
