This battery - made with an orange - is the work of the photographer Caleb Charland, created with the intention of providing light to his long exposure photos. Charland uses other fruits, vegetables and objects as lamps. The electric power of the bulb in this natural battery is generated through a chemical reaction between the citric acid and the zinc nails inserted in each hull.
Although it seems incredible is nothing new, even the battery of a phone can be loaded with the delicious fruit rich in vitamin C, even a luminous sign can look splendid thanks to the supply provided by citric acid.
