How to Conduct an Effective Tutorial Class

To be an effective teacher, the most important thing to remember is that one of the most important goals of teachers is TO HELP STUDENTS LEARN TO HELP THEM. The three ways to achieve this goal are:

o Active learning - Organize structured activities for students. Work hard to get students interested. Ask questions and try to involve the student in obtaining the answer instead of giving a full answer. This involvement will build student confidence, the most important step in improving the writing process.

o Independence - A confident student will become an independent student. Help the student to develop ideas and discuss with them even if they are not directly related to the subject of the lesson. Tutoring classes provide this opportunity where a teacher can effectively interact with students at their individual level, attempting to build their confidence and independence.

o Motivation - Tutoring classes give time to identify each student's strengths and weaknesses and based on this the teacher can develop their own way of motivating individual students. It also gives him the opportunity to identify weak and good students and he can tackle weaker students to raise their confidence level through motivation.

Keeping in mind the facts mentioned above, a meeting including the following methods is suggested as a mode of conducting tutorial courses which could be adopted uniformly and become a standard to be followed with little variation.

Theoretical topics

o The faculty should ask questions related to the concepts discussed in class in order to verify the level of understanding of the basic concept. These concepts can be explained by discussing some design issues and citing examples from the back world. This will help dispel their doubts and also add to the depth of knowledge and application.

o A discussion can take place to adopt the best approach to answer questions about

University paper (in focus).

o Encourage students to share the latest concepts related to the topic.

o The faculty can ask students to participate in the table to discuss some finer points related to the theory and relate them to the practical work carried out in the laboratory.

Numerical subjects

o Motivate the students to solve the number in the notebook, then invite them to discuss it on the board.

o Tutorial sheets can be designed with blank spaces under each question to be solved on its own. These files, after evaluation by the teacher, can be classified in the file by the student for reference. The faculty can take a few as a sample.

o The other approach may be for the faculty to solve a few questions in the tutorial class on the board, then encourage the students to solve the rest on their own and help them do it.

o Students may be asked to download the tutorial sheets from the institute website and resolve them before coming to class, where the faculty may attempt to dispel their doubts and attempt to resolve any unresolved questions, if any. appropriate, in depth.

o Students can be inspired to maintain a file containing the syllabus, lesson plan and tutorial sheets of all the subjects that they can carry daily to the institute, thus preserving the documents for final preparation. Alternatively, this could be printed under the arrangements of the institute and can be distributed to students.
