It's unfortunately that mainstream environmentalist are putting most of the blame on oil companies and capitalism. Environmentalist are trying to change the system, but aren't working on limiting the size of the system. Let's call the system overpopulation.
All I can say, is the environmentalist have pushed too hard for a cap-and-trade system, when the root cause of climate change is over-population. We just added a billion people in the last 13 years, so you would think stabilizing population growth would be the number one solution to saving the environment and the climate.
We need to keep our numbers down, so future generations can have prosperity, with less detrimental effects to the environment. I think the environmental movement needs to shift their resources towards ethically combating rapid population growth. We're not getting rid of oil, so we can achieve far greater results, by preventing the rapid population expansion.
