The final tally on the cloture vote for the substitute amendment for the Ukraine aid bill was 67-27.

It only needed 60 votes.

Next up is another cloture vote on the underlying bill on Monday. And then a final vote on Tuesday on the bill.

The hard part is over. This was the main vote. Ukraine aid will eventually pass on Tuesday.

Now we just have to see what happens in the House. Some Republicans have signalled interest in supporting a discharge petition with the Democrats. This would allow the Democrats to put the bill to a vote regardless of Speaker Mike Johnson.

To do so would require 218 votes, so they would need 5 Republicans to support it.

Hopefully Mike Johnson just makes it easy on everyone and advances the bill himself. This would be a much faster option for Ukraine which can't really afford the wait of a discharge petition.

These are the Republican Senators that voted for Ukraine aid just now. Good on them!

Capito, Cassidy, Collins, Cornyn, Ernst, Grassley, Kennedy, McConnell, Moran, Mullin, Murkowski, Romney, Rounds, Sullivan, Thune, Tillis, Wicker, and Young.

Bernie Sanders voted against.
