EASTERN SATELLITE
The dilemma for the weekend continues. I don't see any real issues on Saturday which should be a partly sunny day with highs reaching the upper 60s and lower 70s except cooler along the shore later in the afternoon once the sea breeze hits. Sunday becomes an issue with the warm front to the south and possibly struggling to get through here. I was optimistic about Sunday but I'm beginning to wonder whether we may wind up sitting clouds, and onshore wind, and the chance for showers.
At least the precipitation would be showery in nature and might not show up until later in the day. There is still a chance this front could wind up being further north as was hinted at yesterday but this has been a spring where warm fronts have struggled greatly. Why should this one be different is beyond me. Much of the day will feature clouds for Long Island and temperatures in the 60s. The PGA golf tournament at Bethpage Black will not see days of continuous rain so dodging showers from time to time for a few hours is not such a bad thing.
Please note that with regards to any tropical storms or hurricanes, should a storm be threatening, please consult your local National Weather Service office or your local government officials about what action you should be taking to protect life and property.
