Here is an update to this previous post I wrote recently about the great number of holly berries in a tree in my neighbourhood. I now reckon that the concept of the mast year can also be applied to the (over) production of holly berries.

In my experience, that holly bush (or small tree) I normally see on my walk is not often this loaded with berries. In fact it’s a pity that holly berries are not edible for humans otherwise I’d be braving the thorny leaves to get some. Instead I hope the birds can get a good feed before the colder weather comes.
