How I Make Butter Coffee

in coffee •  7 years ago

Look, not everyone puts butter in their coffee. Or an egg. But if you want a radical morning and a long lasting smooooth buzz, check out how the pros do it:

We're a little crazy about ingredients and methods, so you'll see Cafe Virtuoso coffee (my God their Amaro Gayo is amazing!) and a Pharos grinder from Orphan Espresso.

Here's how we do it:

-Boil the water and pre-heat your cup.
-Brew your coffee (we use an Aeropress, which is the best way under about $1,000 to make a cup of exceptional coffee)
-While your coffee brews, put the following into your piping hot cup:

*1 TBSP cacao butter (we use Guittard)
*1 TBSP grass fed butter (we use Kerrygold salted)
*1 tsp of gelatin (we use Great Lakes)
*1 TBSP of coconut oil

Pour your coffee on top, drop in an egg and blend with an immersion blender.

Enjoy, amigos!

p.s. Recently I've been adding a tsp of Maca powder to our coffee & I'm digging the nutty taste.
