Corporate developers should see Initial Coin Offering (ICO) as a growth tool for their companies instead of focusing on fundraising. Daniel Zakrisson, the CEO of the startup Cofound.it and speaker at the Blockchain & Bitcoin Conference Stockholm was interviewed about this. He spoke about the development of the Blockchain industry in Sweden by advising relevant advice to startups who want to realize their ICO.
Daniel Zakrisson's interview with the (BCS)
Blockchain & Bitcoin Conference Stockholm (BCS): Daniel. Your company, Cofound.it supports Blockchain startups. How do you choose them?
Daniel Zakrisson (DZ) : Startups are part of our community, our collaborators (accelerators, funds, etc.), our website and our conferences. We used the same process, regardless of its origin. We identify the real potential of a team and a project as well as their level of maturity.
BCS: What kind of startups are most often using Cofound.it? Why do you think?
DZ : There are two main types of startups that come to us for help.
First Blockchains startups, at the heart of the business, working on a technology or services Blockchain. These could work better with internal digital token systems.
Then, traditional startups and companies that explore the potential benefits by tokenizing all or part of their product.
Personally, I think the main reason is that we have a real interest in assisting startups and are aware of that.
Some clarifications
BCS: What advice would you give to an innovative startup that, to get started, think about launching its own ICO?DZ : First of all, you have to think about whether an ICO is really the best way to raise money.
Developing your idea, publishing the code and the technical white papers and validating your model comes second. The ICO will be launched once the startup is ready to expand its network and use the collection to boot users and services from its network.
BCS: What about the most common mistakes made by startups when preparing for ICO?
DZ : It's not a way to raise money, it's a way to start your network.BCS: What was the application of the rarest Blockchain you faced?
DZ : We have been faced with many different applications. The most interesting and the least common are those that push the boundaries of the decentralized economy. Start a project with a totally anonymous team for example.
BCS: What is your opinion on the development of Blockchain in Sweden?DZ : A relief! Although everything started quite late in Sweden - a year ago, it will catch up in the long run. Technology has great potential, much of the talent needed to scale up companies with advanced technology is visible in Sweden.
BCS: Tell us about your presentation at the Blockchain & Bitcoin Conference Stockholm!
DZ : I would like to talk more about the actual token models and use cases that can be established today. Examples include the Token Curated Registries conservation registers and remittance tokens.
