Train daytrip to coinday in Arnhem and walking in Nijmegen

in coinfest •  7 years ago  (edited)

Will take a three and a half hour traintrip and then some to get to Nijmegen, in the province of Gelderland. A beautifull old city of Nederland made famous by the 4 day marches. This year it is the hundred and first edition. About 47.000 people will join in the marches, the longest being 50 Kilometer per day. That is from 18 to 21st of july 2017. The landscape is pretty sloping, and that sound like the Nederish {Nederlands} word: "slopend", which means wrecking. And these marching days are considered to be like that.

Close to Nijmegen is Arnhem, a city made famous by the classic movie "A bridge to far" about operation 'Market Garden' during the second world war. A town in Nederland with a rich history and a modern approach to the use of Smart Cash. Because Arnhem is also the Bitcoin capital our country. Therefore it is the right place to organize CoinFest 2017! And I've been wanting to go there for a long time, it has been too long since the last time I was there. It starts at 16:00 CEST at the Barley's Biergarten pub and Bitcoin is accepted all over town. So it does sound very tempting... And travelling by train, so no need to worry about that second beer.

Hope I can make it in time. Would be great to be able to pay with Smart Cash like Bitcoin. Never done that in a shop, a restaurant or a pub before. And I guess it seems a bit weird to travel 7 hours in total by train, just to spend some Smart Cash. But hey, I'm a geek and there probably will be some strolling too, so that makes more sense, right?

Have a great one!
