Not a beautiful gem today, but a scene from a past and probably already disappeared life.
You won't get any refreshing drink here anymore, and the ravages of time are already gnawing at the old tin advertisements. It seems to have been ages ago that you could quench your thirst here.
Especially in the countryside here in Japan, things which are no longer used are often left to the elements. Demolition costs time and money, which is much more needed elsewhere.
And beauty contests are not hold and prizes are not awarded in this area.
Coming across some fancy Coke recently?

Heute mal kein wunderschönes Kleinod, sondern eine Szene aus einem vergangenen und wohl schon verdrängten Leben.
Auch hier gibt es nun nichts mehr erfrischendes zu trinken, und der Zahn der Zeit nagt schon gewaltig an den einstigen blechernen Werbeaushängen. Es scheint schon eine Ewigkeit her zu sein, dass man hier seinen Durst löschen konnte.
Besonders auf dem Land wird in Japan oft nicht mehr Benötigtes der Witterung überlassen. Abriss kostet Zeit und Geld, was ja anderweitig auch benötigt wird.
Und Schönheitspreise werden in dieser Gegend hier fürwahr nicht vergeben.

I disagree about the beauty part. There is a wabi-sabi quality to these old corroded and rusted buildings.

Of course there is, something nostalgic and sentimental. That's why those place make me stop all the times. I think it comes together with age, that I learned how to appreciated random things
