This Recipe is sure to please! Portioned for a small Family. (Just Double for a Crowd).
PREP TIME: 30 minutes
SERVINGS: 4 small portions or 2 plentyful Pitmaster portions
Listed below is our copycat recipe of Kentucky Fried Chicken's Famous Cole Slaw Recipe:
What you will need:
1/2 of med to large size Cabbage (save the rest for something else or double the recipe for a larger crowd)
1/2 of med Onion (ziplock and freeze the rest for another time)
1/2 Carrot
6 tsp Sugar
3/4 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Black Pepper
1/2 cup Sour Cream
1/4 cup Milk
2 pkg True Lemon *
( * or substitute Milk and Lemon with actual 1/4 cup Buttermilk)
4 tsp White Vinegar
Celery seed to Taste

To prepare:
Cut onion into small thin slices (dice fine chop if desired). Do the same with the carrot.
Mix milk, lemon (or buttermilk if using) with onion, sugar, salt, pepper and vinegar to marinate. Let sit.
Meanwhile, slice cabbage into fine thin slices using either a knife, mandaline or vegetable peeler (dice fine chop if desired).
Stir sour cream into onion solution. Mix well. Add cabbage. Stir well.
Refrigerate overnight.
When ready to serve, stir up one last time. Season to taste. Add more sour cream if you desire a slightly more creamy texture. The flavor comparison to the Colonel's recipe is spot on. With NO EGG or MAYO Required!
