Here is a dragon fly that was flying around in my backyard. We have a pond in the backyard and it attracts a lot of these guys at certain times of the year.

I've never been stung by one since I leave them alone they leave me alone. But I looked it up and their mandibles aren't strong enough to break human skin. So we are lucky they aren't dangerous to humans.
