Color Challenge - Saturday Indigo - CornflowersteemCreated with Sketch.

in colorchallenge •  7 years ago

The cornflower or Centaurea cyanus, to give it its scientific name, can be seen all summer long growing wild along the edges of Scotland's corn fields and along the roadsides. Thanks to modern herbicides though, it is not seen so often as a wildflower, but is a favorite in Scottish gardens. I picked this cornflower form my Dad's garden and photographed it against a piece of black velvet.

The most common color for cornflowers is blue, but this one with its beautiful indigo center, is perfect for today's Color Challenge: Indigo by @kalemandra

That picture is beautiful and I cant begin to imagine how much work must have gone into it, but just wow. The colour is so rich and it looks so delicate..

I used black velvet. It makes the blackest black.

Such a beautiful blossom!
