This is small chapel under Jeterbenk Hill.

Jeterbenk Hill

Jeterbenk is a 774 m high peak located between Slavkov dom na Golem Brdu and Katarina (village Topol). From the top on which there is a large cross and below the register box with a stamp, we open a nice view towards the part of the Gorenjska and the Ljubljana basin.

History

The Jetrbenk Castle is first mentioned around l. 1012 was built probably fifty years earlier. Initially, it was just a wooden tower. Around l. 1150, Raubar Pametni ordered the demolition of wooden walls and the construction of stone walls. But also because of his position, Jetrbenk remained unconquered for a long time.

Jetrbenk soon became a very magnificent castle and one of the few, ruled by the Slovene nobles and not German. Over the centuries, he abstained from three sieges, plague and hunger. The nobles of Jetrbenk were on the side of the Celje nobles in the war against the Habsburgs. After their extinction, 1479 is German Emperor Friderik III attack the castle. After 3 months of siege, the Castle of Jetrbenk was finally burned. Exactly in the place where the castle once stood, in the 20th century they set up a large wooden cross.
