The girls are showing signs of first week of moving into flower stage. I found 2 leaves on one of the Blackberry Kush plants that had powdery mildew, during the swamp cake weather we had last week. I big leafed a bunch and sprayed with a product called Dr. Enzymes. So far so good, they seem to have bounced back and doing well.
These gals are so tall this year, I received 2 of them tall so was hard to shape from get go. I added a layer of thick insulation around the bags to keep them a bit cooler. We've had a hot summer and when growing in pots, the soil can heat up fast which in nature the Earth is around 65 degrees so they definitely like cooler temp.

On occasion I will water down the outside when it gets in the 90 degree days. They seem to love this, and water will knock down any spider mites or soft body insects which is an added bonus. However, with powdery mildew in and nature everywhere, there is a fine balance of moisture content in and around the plant.
It's always a great policy to prevent than crisis management later!
