Pollen is one of the tiny things that makes terrestrial life on Earth possible...well, at least life as we know it. The flower below is more than ready for its winged visitors, many of whom love to gather in my garden.
The photo was taken with an old Olympus E-520 in macro mode. I didn't do any special editing to highlight the center--that was all in-camera. It looks sort of surreal...maybe that's how it looks to the bees?
