For the record, we still don't know what motivated Dave Chapelle's attacker. Apparently his listed address is a homeless shelter; so, it's possible that he's just some random dude who snapped and didn't have any coherent motivations.
If Chapelle's attacker did have coherent motivations, we should still stop saying that Will Smith inspired him. The people who supported Will Smith inspired him more than Will Smith did.
