Big favorite of mine as a kid! As a fairly new comics reader I latched on to stories like Sleepwalker, Darkhawk, etc... It was a satisfying feeling to be following a new character from the beginning of their adventures.

I think that kind of thinking probably helped the 2099 titles of that era, they were mostly old characters but now people could jump in to the new takes on them.
