One of the users that seems to have left Steemit is @jpgaltmiller who wrote a very entertaining Zombie comics and who wanted to make a comic about Socrates. I just recieved the result of his Kickstarter: first part of a comic called The Trial of Socrates.

I haven't had time to read it yet, but it looks great. Sad that @jpgaltmiller has stopped blogging on Steemit. I would like to have heard about his Kickstarter experience!

I loved his other comic too. Maybe he can be tempted back.

I got some mails via the Kickstarter so I never really thought about him being absent here until I checked. Online life is confusing.

Isn't it just? Sometimes I wish we had more streamlined ONE place to go for online life but I realize that is what we DON'T want as then the owner of that will have a pretty powerful control over the online world. It is frustrating trying to stay up on the various platforms tho :/

I am always impressed and amazed by comic artists so much work.

I would find it fine to have one protocol making it possible for all social media to talk together. The open source variety can do that. Diaspora can "talk" to Hubzilla, to Friendica and to many smaller projects. Why shouldn't Facebook be able to have both Twitterand snap-chat in their feed? It can be done without inventing anything new, but they wouldn't be able to earn the same amount of money that way...

That’s what I always hope for Steem, and one of the big perks of it I think! I’d love to see a front end embrace widgets of other apps content styles. Like on Steemit, anything that originated from Actifit should have its own mini feed that can be turned on/off and positioned how you like to view content. Same for APPICS, Steemhunt, etc. I feel like SteamPeak has come closest to the beginnings of a direction like this with some of the favoriting and filtering advances they’re adding.

I hadn't even heard about Steempeak. Thanks for the heads up.

What a great idea and it appears to be very well executed.

It is. Educomics :)

Ooh. I should get mine soon too! I backed this! I forgot to download the PDF he offered a little while back & the link expired. I too hope he might show up again. I’ve seen a few faces who had gone missing for a while return recently...

I have the pdf if you want it... seems fair enough if you backed the project. I can send it to you if you like.

As for Steemit is has been very quiet for a while now, but on the other hand I have brought in some people who make art, and I think I might be able to get more people convinced. When the prize is low people are discouraged, but maybe we who actually make some reasonable content can get some more influence. I still power up what I make here.

Just got my printed copy today! Thanks for the PDF offer, but that’s ok... it’d just be more digital hoarding for me!
I do think we’re fortunate that quite a few of our comics faithful have the same power up mentality. It gives us a shot at growing a solid community.

Yes, from the start I realised that SP was key to building something here, so even though I did take out some SteemDollars last Christmas - most of what I have made here is invested.

Sup Dork! Enjoy the upvote!!!

Thanks!
