Jay and Silent Bob: Gritty Reboot

I am a big Kevin Smith Fan. I'm a fan of ANYONE who makes stuff (knives, furniture, cabinets, quilts, art, pirate hats, delicious baked goods...anything) --- but I'm especially fond of this gentleman. He's a nerd that done good --- and managed to build his love of geek culture into an empire.

I'm such a fan - I even made Yoga Hoser art!

I loved Clerks --- and forcing my Wife to go see Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back might be one of the reasons she is my ex wife ... BUT - it is his fan-boy adoration of comic books that really won me over.

And lead to some fun illustrations:

You have to remember that being a comic book fan was not always embraced by the larger world --- in certain circles (every circle) it was considered nerdy and awful. Girls wouldn't talk to you --- people's would avoid your lunch table. It was a much crueler world for the escapist fantasists!

However, a few heroes emerged from the primordial swamp of Comics and Dungeons and Dragons --- and did great things. Kevin Smith is the most notable of these brace souls. That is why I was extraordinarily excited to hear that Jay and Silent Bob: Gritty Reboot is going into production.

And that is why I made a mock-up of the movie poster. Nobody asked me to - I just wanted to play in that toy box for a few hours. I think Kevin would approve.
