Katie Kittermaster is a bright new voice in the singer-songwriter world, and she has just dropped her debut EP, Coming Home at Dawn, in the wake of an incredibly successful support slot on tour with none other than X Factor sensation, Lucy Spraggan.
The newest voice on the singer-songwriter scene is not actually that new. Having first gained attention performing in Dubai and then various support slots for household names such as Jools Holland, Kittermaster has been honing her craft for several years now. She has therefore amassed a huge fan base already and wowed audiences literally all over the world. It is this experience and know-how beyond her years which has led to her support slot with fellow pop songstress Lucy Spraggan and garnered her widespread critical acclaim before her EP was even a twinkle in her eye.
With wins already under her belt, such as the UK Songwriting Contest, Kittermaster’s EP, Coming Home at Dawn has been highly anticipated for a while. Including songs such as the lead single ‘Sunday Afternoon’ and the winner of the aforementioned competition, ‘T-Shirt’, this debut is a treat from start to finish.
Kittermaster combines simplistic melodies with some of the most insightful lyrics of recent years to create this masterpiece of songwriting, with the lyrics taking centre stage of the EP’s constitution. Her emotional intelligence really shines throughout on each and every track, as well as her ability to craft a truly beautiful pop song. It’s rare for someone this young to be able to analyse her own emotions this well, let alone translate them into some beautifully poetic lyrics but Katie Kittermaster makes it sound easy.
Listen to lead single ‘Sunday Afternoon’ below and make sure you check out the EP, Coming Home at Dawn, released everywhere 1st November!
