Logan Paul is a Flat Earther? (Peak 2018)steemCreated with Sketch.

I thought I saw the ultimate collision of clickbait and conspiracy with the transvestigation. I was wrong. Since the year 2018 is not yet coming to a close, it still has some surprises in store. Logan Paul attended a flat earth event with bad lighting and gave a two-minute speech. It is unknown if he really subscribes to the idea of a flat earth or if this is a publicity stunt akin to filming a dead body in Aokigahara (Japan's so-called and unduly sensationalized "suicide forest") and releasing the footage to a public platform, one that is popular with kids.

During the speech, Paul called himself a "man of truth" who "hates being ignorant". After mentioning that people have not been to the moon in over 50 years, he claimed that the moon emits its own light. It is generally accepted that this claim is false; the moon reflects the light of the sun. He then claims that Neil deGrasse Tyson and Bill Nye are the "some of the best scientists" and that people like them can't explain how gravity works. While there is a slight chance that could be an attempt at good faith open-mindedness, Paul is not trusted among many Internet users, especially after the Aokigahara stunt and other previous actions* that continue to taint his image.

Being the curious person I am, I went to flatearthdoctrine.com, the website in the video description, and took a look around the site. This site and the book it promotes the claim that the round earth is a Satanic deception and that Christians who subscribe to the idea of a round earth are not really Christians. In her testimony, ex-NASA employee Tracey Moran claimed that her workplace was "shady" during her time there (1991-2004) and that the evidence for a flat earth was withheld from her.

The other testimony for this book was written by Robert Jones, an IT network admin. Both people have their faces in their testimonies, which suggests that they are not trolls, but are wholeheartedly sincere about believing that there is a flat earth. I cannot trust Logan Paul in the same way that I trust these people, but it is entirely possible that he is sincere about "coming out of the flat-earth closet" as he calls it.
