I hold a team meeting once per month.
I try to keep meetings to a minimum.
In previous years there wasn't a need for meetings as the team was small & experienced.
Anything that had to be communicated was done as part of the day to day. Most issues were solved through informal discussions and collaborations.
Now, initially, I wasn't going to have meetings.
I had 3 new people plus an experienced person who needed to take on more responsibility.
New people are keen but require direction.
After a couple of frustrating months, it became apparent that they needed a rudder, a sound board, a group discussion.
So, I made a list of issues, concerns, topics and so on, to be discussed.
The first 3 meetings were laying down rules and bringing up a list of issues.
There were probably 15 different talking points.
The more recent meetings have 7 standard talking points.
It reflects the experience and growing confidence in my team.
I cover recent company performance, department goals and noticed issues.
The team contribute any other points that they consider relevent.
One good point is that discussing ideas helps the penny drop. Even the person who is talking about the topic, or has a question, can sometimes answer their own question just because they have said it out aloud.
Meetings have their place, but need to be used effectively.
I am averse to just having meeting for the sake of meetings and they should be short and to the point.
My wife works in government, and I'm about to be offered a position in her department. The one thing that I hear day in and day out is the number of meetings held and the number of people who attend this meetings and don't contribute in this office.
Having meetings for the sake of meetings is bad enough, but inviting people who don't belong there or have anything to contribute is the worst.

Take meat to a meeting.
Or, set the team the task of rearranging themselves into meat. It's a non-cyclic permutation exercise.
This is my pre-Solo play on words time-filling comment.
There won't be a need to have a follow-up meeting.
