I've been reading the posts by @aggroed, @exyle and @taskmaster4450 about the coming of the 'Tribes' to Steem through Scotbot & Co.
And it got me thinking...
I've started getting involved again in organising Food Festivals in Wales.
Would this be a suitable 'tribe' to bring to the Steem platform?
A Food Festival Community?
I'm still getting my head around the all the ins and outs of running a community through the SCOT package.
I understand there are a number of elements that need to be put in place - setting up a token on Steem-Engine, getting a frontend established with Nitrous, linking up with the SCOTbot.
And there is also SCOTtube and TokenBB as well now to make up the total package.
It does look like it could be a very useful route to establish a community for the food festival organisers, and to bring more people to the Steem platform.
Questions to be asked
But before getting engrossed in the mechanics of this there are a number of questions to be addressed...
What would make a SCOT community more attractive, and appropriate, to food festival organisers than say a Facebook group?
What is the minimum number of participants needed to make a SCOT community viable? If the Community was just for food festival organisers in Wales the total potential members could be around 300 - is that too small? If it was expanded to the whole of the UK it might reach maybe ten times that.
How easy would it be to onboard, and train, everyone for such a SCOT community?
How could the initial and ongoing costs be covered?
How to get started
I am watching PALnet with interest. It seems to be gaining momentum rapidly. But that is forming a community for existing steemians.
Where this concept becomes really interesting to me is if we can use the new facilities being built by @aggroed, @yabapmatt and their team to bring in new communities from outside Steem.
That is where the fun will really start.
But it is a very challenging, and daunting prospect.
Maybe we need to quickly repurpose, or clone, @steemonboarding that @anomadsoul and @coruscate have built into a 'SCOTonboarding' package.
Even some sort of simple step by step 'this is how to get started' type guide could be useful.

This is a great idea.
I go to food and wine festivals and they always end up tokenized anyways, either through physical tokens or tickets.
If you can get those onto crypto that would be a great way to bring normies into crypto. And they all have smartphones anyways.

It would definitely be a good way to get new people onto the platform.
The onboarding and initial costs are still rather challenging though.

Indeed it will. It is rather an involved process to get all set up.
