Life as a City Council Member #0002

I Chair the San Gabriel 4th of July Kid's Day and Parade. It is a great event that allows any community group, school, or even just friends to participate in the parade.

This is a great way to engage the community. We end the parade in Smith Park. At the park there are booths for kids, prizes, the firefighters spray down kids with their hose, hot dogs, watermelon eating contest. Tons of fun. If you are in the LA/San Gabriel Valley area, please join.

July 4th at 8:30 am. The Parade starts at 9:00.

Thank you @nativzel

Kids enjoy this event because it is not as formal as other parades. They gat to be in the parade if they choose. So much fun. They meet our police and fire in a fun way.

We also have a veteran wall, and take pictures with residents that have served. It is great to see the older veterans tell kids stories of how our city used to be.

Sounds like a life time memory for kids!
