My 2 Satoshi: What to Expect from Blockchain Art

These are exciting times, indeed. Being in the art gallery business and working with artists all the time, art/creativity on the blockchain is certainly something I try to keep my eye on.

One of the issues artists often face is how to "archive" their body of work in a safe yet accessible manner. The possibility of using some form of blockchain technology to create a permanent archive of an artist's body of work definitely has a lot of practical appeal.

Not sure if such a thing is in the works... one has to consider such a function would be more "archival" than "commercial."

It's definitely in the works, the only example I know is Artchain, but there's more around.

I've jumped in with this namesake on Steemit and two web presences that are strictly blockchain concept emulations. I too am very excited that this "my 2 Satoshi letter" implies a deeper means of conceptualizing blockchain than it being just simply a transaction record. Explaining my art in a blockchain-based medium is applying my sense of value to it. In that sense blockchain is a culture.
