Effectiveness of Trainee Programs in Companies - misplaced priority

in company •  7 years ago

Trainee programs are supposed to be aimed at nurturing the company's future backbone that will be trusted and well rooted in the activities of the company.

If the Human Resource personnel, team, or management who hired the trainee(s) fail to follow up on the progress of the training (as we have today in most of our companies) and abandon the fresh graduate/trainee in the hands of staff/professionals who will feel unnecessarily intimidated by the trainee's smartness/intelligence for fear of being displaced, replaced or overthrown by the young, vibrant trainee...
...the resultant effect will surely be stinginess on the path of the professional in the willingness to disseminate his knowledge/skills to this totally dependent and knowledge-seeking trainee - rendering the effort and time(training program duration or probation period) put in by both the Management and the trainee to be futile...

...but do we blame the professional? - I guess the fair answer is No...cos jobs are not too easy to come by.

But another thing is Funding or/and Compensation.

Believe you me, if the trainee is not properly compensated(esp. in times where things are super expensive like this and companies have become super stingy with the excuse of trying to cut cost)
...the trained trainee will sooner or later abandon the trainer after assimilating in full or haphazardly for where his acquired skills will be properly compensated.

I talk from experience.
