The Blue Nowhere

Recent cyber attacks on popular gaming and related Internet platforms has raised the question about the safety of the Internet users and Service Providers.Low standards and poor security practices have let Blackhat Hackers catch up with security once again.99% of these hacks seem to be automated(botnet triggered) according to data provided by Security Researchers and Watchdogs.The same names seem to to keep popping up with regard to Malware and the Internet Underground.Lizard Men,Anonymous,Conficker,Stuxnet,Zeus,Heartbleed,NTPd Zero Day Vulnerabilities etc.The hacks in question affected PlayStation Network(PSN) and XBOX Cloud.The Distributed Denial Of service Attacks disrupted gaming over Christmas Eve of 2014.Recent Attacks between 2015 to 2017 have focused on Network Vulnerabilities sich as Logjam,Sloth and Freak.In 2016 the Mirai Botnet and the Quadrooter Vulnerability were all over the news.In 2017 Malware such as Wannacry and Eternal Blue from The Shadow Brokers Blackhat Hacking Group have hit several Corporations,Hospitals,Utility Networks and Organizations causing a lot of destruction.

The point of this analysis is to enumerate and highlight major vulnerabilities and threats before a Digital Pearl Harbour triggers a global economic collapse and extinction level events.Bugs like the Y2K Bug are still a threat.Zero Day Exploits threaten to destroy The Blue Nowhere and all of our hard earned freedoms and privileges.A motivated attacker(read cyber terrorist!) or faction can carry out a Firesale Hack:Mass Disruption Of Major Services and Utilities which would water down government and corporate efforts to properly govern society irregardless of country,'no one is safe'!.

The Blue Nowhere(euphemism for The Internet) is our last and only chance for sustainable growth and development today so losing it to malware and malicious hackers is not in any entities' nor individual's best interests.Whitehats need to think like Blackhats just to balance the security equation.There also exists a group of hackers called greyhat hackers who are neutral in this conflict which is where most people who venture into the world of computer security end up like myself.
