Cybercriminals taking advantage of the boom and the popularity of cryptocurrencies have dedicated themselves to creating false applications for the exchange of cryptocurrencies. Before this the problem the computer security company Eset has expressed "that the main objective is to steal passwords and access data by posing as an application that serves to make transactions and in the end allow them to seize real accounts"
In addition to the attackers they affirm not only the name of the developer, the icon of the application and the user interface, but also other user options, another form of cryptocurrency scams, referenced by Eset, is that of applications that pretend mine cryptocurrencies, but they really do nothing but show ads
How to avoid being a victim of these false applications?
• use two factor authentication
• treat the exchange of cryptocurrencies and purses with the same degree of caution as using a banking application
• the official application should appear linked to the page of the person offering the service.
• Keep devices updated and use a trusted security solution.
That is why to safeguard our cryptocurrencies we should be aware of the authenticity of the exchange applications that are also related to the purse of the currency in question to prevent them from being victims of fraud.
