What is the internal condom?

The inner condom (also called the female condom), is another type of condom that you can use different from the condom (male condom). The internal condom offers almost the same level of protection to prevent unwanted pregnancies and STDs.
Instead of being placed over the penis, the inner condom is placed inside the vagina to prevent pregnancy and STDs. It is also used inside the anus to protect against STDs. For a long time it was called a "female condom." However, people of any gender can use it to have vaginal or anal sex.

How does the internal condom (female condom) work?

The inner condom (female condom), is a nitrile bag (soft plastic) that you put inside your vagina. The internal condom covers the inside of your vagina and creates a barrier so that sperm cannot pass through and does not reach the egg. When sperm and egg cannot come together, pregnancy cannot occur.
Although there are records of the use of latex since 1600 BC, the first condoms were made of canvas, silk, leather, paper or animal intestines.
The Mexican Youth Institute (Imjuve) details its operation.
How to place a female condom:
*Check the expiration date on the package and then open it carefully.
*Squeeze the sides of the inner ring at the closed end and slide it into the vagina.
Push the inner ring into the vagina as much as you can, up to the cervix.
Remove your finger and let the outer ring protrude from the vagina about an inch.
How to remove a female condom:
*Squeeze and roll the outer ring to keep the semen inside the cover.
*Gently remove it from the vagina, being careful not to spill any semen.
*Throw it in the trash (never flush any type of condom in the toilet).
*Female condoms cannot be reused.
