The Anatomy of Peace.

I don’t have the expertise or energy or topic internet to get into the current conflict in the Middle East in any substantial way.

But I am interested in the human heart and it’s capacity to love, and listening to David Friedberg on yesterdays All-In Podcast, I remembered a book I read long ago called “The Anatomy of Peace: Resolving the Heart of Conflict”.

That book’s description of the “Heart of Peace” and “Heart of War” was my first exposure to what Tim Urban calls “Primitive Mind” vs “Higher Mind”, and others might call “survival mode” or “being triggered”.

And so, I do have a clear side and position to pick in this conflict. I am on the side of splitting people & actions along these axes, instead of the ubiquitous axis of ethnic nationality, essentially a rotation to a different basis vector.

And on this new basis vector, I am on the side of the Higher Mind and the Heart of Peace. The side that evaluates atrocities based on their atrociousness, not on the nationalities of those involved. And I hope many of you are as well. And so I give a sincere Shabbat Shalom to all humans everywhere.
