The confusion of sin: Our body will be ashes and our spirit will be poured abroad like empty air. Wisdom 2:3

The Bible in the Book of Wisdom teaches us that sin brings the confusion of the mind. The selfish search for apparent goods such as money, driven by greed, brings with it the immediacy of thought, little thought is given to the future and the mind concentrates only on the present, forgetting our relationship with our neighbor.
That is why wisdom, the knowledge of the correct means to live, is so important to develop us internally in contrast to sin, wisdom orders man's thoughts towards superior and eternal goods (the immaterial objects), the truth, the good, and the eternal life (contemplative activity) as examples, and for that, the wise man prospers and give good advices. The sin leads men, due to its inherent disorder, to push the human beings into some point to a conflict with the reality and themselves, that is why the path of sin brings despair, homicides, and wars. The Lord in his wisdom placed before man things in pairs, life and death, good and evil, order and chaos.
When a wise man teaches, he tries to teach the best and the most excellent, because that is consistent with the wisdom of the heart, that is why the author of the book of Wisdom, most probably King Solomon, gave us a few words of wisdom about the problem of living with our back to God and his spiritual knowledge, living a life given over to sin; wisdom as a science seeks to give us the correct keys to achieve a prosperous and happy life.
So were the words of the wise in his Book of Wisdom, about the mentality of those who follow the path of sin:
"For, not thinking rightly, they said among themselves:
´Brief and troubled is our lifetime;
there is no remedy for our dying,
nor is anyone known to have come back from Hades.
For by mere chance were we born,
and hereafter we shall be as though we had not been;
Because the breath in our nostrils is smoke,
and reason a spark from the beating of our hearts,
And when this is quenched, our body will be ashes
and our spirit will be poured abroad like empty air" Wisdom 2:1-3.
